Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 27, 2026 Last Updated: January 27, 2026

Welcome to Combina ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing transparency about how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Combina mobile application (the "App") and explains our data practices in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable privacy laws.

By using Combina, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our App.

  1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

Wardrobe Photos You upload photos of your clothing items to build your digital wardrobe. These images are stored securely and processed to generate outfit recommendations. All uploaded images remain private to your account.

Account Information Email address (for authentication), display name (optional), gender and style preferences, and location data (for weather-based styling).

Preferences and Settings Style preferences, outfit preferences, notification settings, and subscription status.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

Usage Data App features you access and use, time spent in the App, interactions with recommendations, and user behavior patterns.

Device Information Device type and model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, mobile network information, and app version.

Location Data Approximate location (city-level) for weather-based outfit recommendations. We do NOT track precise GPS coordinates. Location services can be disabled in your device settings (this will limit weather-based features).

Log Data Technical logs including IP address, access times, error reports, performance metrics, crash reports, and diagnostics.

  1. Third-Party Services and Data Processing

3.1 AI and Image Processing Services

We use third-party artificial intelligence services to power Combina's core features, including:

  • Clothing item detection in uploaded photos

  • Outfit curation and recommendations

  • Image generation and processing

Your wardrobe photos may be sent to third-party AI service providers for processing. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models or for any purpose other than providing services to Combina.

3.2 Cloud Infrastructure

Firebase by Google We use Google Firebase for authentication and secure account management, cloud storage for your wardrobe photos and generated images, database services for outfit data, preferences, and app metadata, analytics and crash reporting, and push notification delivery.

All data stored in Firebase is private to your account and protected by security rules. Learn more: firebase.google.com/support/privacy

Apple Services We use Apple's services for weather data based on your approximate location (WeatherKit), push notifications, and secure subscription payment processing (Apple handles all payment information).

3.3 Analytics and User Experience

Microsoft Clarity We use Microsoft Clarity as an essential tool for maintaining app quality and identifying technical issues that standard analytics cannot detect:

  • Session Recordings: Visual recordings of app usage help us identify where users encounter technical problems, navigation issues, or app crashes that would otherwise go unreported

  • Heatmaps: Visual representation of interaction patterns helps us identify confusing interfaces or broken features

  • User Journey Analysis: Understanding navigation patterns helps us fix user experience problems and reduce app abandonment

  • Performance Monitoring: Identifying technical issues affecting specific device types or iOS versions

Session recordings are necessary because standard analytics only provide numerical data (e.g., "80% of users abandoned onboarding"), while session recordings show us why users encounter problems (e.g., a button doesn't respond, an image fails to load, a screen freezes). This is essential for maintaining a high-quality app experience, particularly during our launch phase as we identify and fix issues across different devices and iOS versions.

Privacy Safeguards:

  • Sensitive information (passwords, email addresses, personal data entry) is automatically masked and never recorded

  • Recordings are retained for only 3 months

  • Data is used solely for technical debugging and user experience improvement, never for advertising or marketing

  • Session data is not shared with third parties beyond Microsoft Clarity's infrastructure

Firebase Analytics We use Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics, feature adoption tracking, and performance metrics.
